Continuing on the ‘who are we series’, our wonderful Richard has shared his story:
“I’m Richard Morgan, DSEAR Specialist Assessor with SHE Does Safety.

I have many years of hands-on experience across a wide range of industries and research environments. I’ve encountered most of the things that can go wrong in workplaces — and more importantly, I’ve learned how to work to prevent them from my background working within the Health & Safety Executive and now, consultancy. This has given me a practical “battle tested” perspective that I bring to every project.
My philosophy is straightforward, safety measures should be sensible, practical, and easy to use. The best solutions aren’t burdensome paperwork exercises — they’re smart systems that protect people while saving money in the long run through fewer incidents, smoother operations, and better compliance. I focus on making safety work for your business, not the other way around.
I’m based in a beautiful medieval village in Suffolk, where I’ve developed a real passion for medieval buildings and local history. You’ll often find me exploring timber-framed wonders, ancient churches, and historic sites. My Instagram page, @RichardofSuffolk, shares these discoveries and has built a wonderful following, with interest reaching as far as Australia and the USA. It’s a great creative outlet alongside my professional work, especially as I ease into retirement.
Cappuccino is always my choice of coffee – named after the colour of the habits worn by the Capuchin Friars.
I met Laura Tull, many moons ago at another health and safety consultancy, we both have similar views on how we work with people and businesses. Starting with SHE was a natural fit.
I genuinely enjoy what I do. Whether I’m carrying out DSEAR risk assessments, supporting compliance, or helping businesses manage hazardous substances, I take a friendly, approachable approach. I look forward to meeting new people, understanding their operations over a coffee, and working together to ensure their workplaces are safe, compliant, and sustainable.”
